Yes, I have taught loads of beginners over the years. I have plenty of experience teaching students who have never picked up a drum stick before, helping them to learn and develop their drumming skills and enabling to drum the songs that they love.

I teach all my drum lessons at my purpose built drum studio based down at 47 Marsh Green Road West, Exeter, EX2 8PN. Click on the map below to bring up my location on Google maps. The studio is the perfect place to learn - it is a warm relaxing environment packed with a huge array of percussion and drum equipment.

I certainly do. I teach students of all ages, with specially tailored drum lessons for younger students packed full of fun activities. Parents are more than welcome to sit in during our lessons and get involved if they wish.

While I personally don't place too much importance on undertaking grades, I would be happy to take you through the drum grades if needed.

While it is always good to have a drum kit at home to practise on it is certainly not critical to have it before your first lesson. Indeed, due to their noise and size, you might find that practising in rehearsal studios (Cornwall House for example if you are a University of Exeter student) is a good alternative to owning a drum kit. It is always good to have a suitable pair of sticks, but we can talk through what would suit you best during our first lesson. That is no problem at all, just let me know as soon as you can and I would be happy to re-arrange. Please note the Drum Lessons Exeter operates a 48-hour cancellation policy whereby if you cancel within 48 hours of our lesson you will be charged the full price of that lesson.
